A few days ago, I tried to interview my friend, David Crumm, for this blog. He turned the tables on me, and got me talking instead. This has happened before. David is a master interviewer, so I always defer to him.
David is all about helping other voices be heard, and building up writers and community.
I've know him for over 20 years, and there is nothing he seems to enjoy more than when a writer comes into their own.
He has helped countless people do that.
He is the editor of an online interfaith, cross-cultural magazine called "Read the Spirit." This magazine allows experienced and fledgling writers to find a home base.
Article ideas are received with gratitude and respectful consideration.
Along with his team, David founded Front Edge Publishing, a publishing house for books by and about people making a difference. Authors who publish through them come from all walks of life. They partners with a number of established writing organizations, such as the Michigan State University Department of Journalism. But they also help many others who do not have any formal writing credentials.
David is a partner in the wider efforts to build interfaith collaboration and intercultural dialogue.
I encourage you to take a look at Read the Spirit, especially if you want to feed your soul in these troubled times with positive news stories.
If you are considering writing and publishing, or wonder about the process, I encourage you to reach out to David. You can find his contact information on the Read the Spirit site or here.
Oh ... and David now has me thinking about a book idea I may develop, in conjunction with my friends I have made here on the Leeward side of O`ahu. Ideas need to be nurtured. David is a good farmer of good ideas.
